Correlation Between Uptake of ¹⁸F-FDG During PET/CT and Ki-67 Expression in Patients Newly Diagnosed With Multiple Myeloma Having Extramedullary Involvement.

ABSTRACT: The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship of prognosis of patients with multiple myeloma having extramedullary involvement (EMM) with the ¹⁸F- fluorodeoxyglucose(18F-FDG) maximum standardized uptake value and the expression of Ki-67 in biopsy samples. Sixty-five patients were newly diagnosed with multiple myeloma presenting with EMM at our hospital from January 2005 to January 2015. Of these 65 patients, 20 were enrolled in this study. Over the last decade, both the maximum standardized uptake value and Ki-67 expression in these extramedullary lesions significantly correlated with progression-free survival, respectively ( P= .039, P =.009).
