Relationship between circulating concentration of Ang II, ADM and ADT and left ventricular hypertrophy in hypertension.

ABSTRACT:

Background

Left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) is the most common structural damage in hypertensive complication and is an independent risk factor for assessing cardiovascular events. The aim of this study was explore the relationship between plasma concentration of angiotensin II (Ang II), Adrenomedulin (ADM) and adrenotensin (ADT) in patients with hypertension and LVH.

Methods

We enrolled 310 hypertensive patients from the department of cardiology of Tianjin Union Medical Center as the hypertension group and 39 healthy subjects as control group. Further grouping according to the LVMI (male LVMI≥115 g/m², female LVMI≥95 g/m²) values for determining LVH in the 2013 ESC Hypertension Management Guidelines. Plasma levels of Ang II, ADM and ADT were measured
