The names <i>Werneria melanandra</i> and <i>W. pygmophylla</i> are transferred to the genus <i>Senecio</i>. They belong to the group of the discoid caespitose Andean <i>Senecio</i>, specifically to the subgroup with blackish anthers and style branches and whitish corollas. The recognition of <i>S. digitatus</i> as a distinct species is also discussed.
