ABSTRACT: Importance:The prevalence of the use of electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) in the United States has grown rapidly since their introduction to the market more than a decade ago. While several studies have demonstrated an association between combustible cigarette smoking and depression, the association between e-cigarette use and depression has not been thoroughly studied. Objective:To examine the association between e-cigarette use and depression in a nationally representative sample of the adult population in the United States.
