MicroRNA 223 3p Negatively Regulates the NLRP3 Inflammasome in Acute and Chronic Liver Injury.

ABSTRACT: The granulocyte-specific microRNA-223 (miR-223) has recently emerged as a negative regulator of NOD-like receptor 3 (NLRP3) expression, a central key player in chronic hepatic injuries such as fibrotic nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), as well as in other liver conditions including acute hepatitis.
