ABSTRACT: In 2018, Babesia microti infection was diagnosed for a 37-year-old man in Singapore who acquired the infection in the United States. This case highlights the recent rise of tickborne infections in the United States and the risk for their spread, because of increasing global interconnectivity, to regions where they are not endemic.
