The level of zinc finger of the cerebellum 2 is predictive of overall survival in clear cell renal cell carcinoma.

ABSTRACT:

Background

The zinc finger of the cerebellum 2 (ZIC2) has been reported to function as an oncogenic transcription factor. However, the level and prognostic value of ZIC2 in patients with clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) remain unclear.

Methods

UALCAN was employed to analyze the level of ZIC2 mRNA in ccRCC samples compared to normal kidney tissues and to explore the impacts of ZIC2 expression according to tumor-node-metastasis (TNM) stages and histologic grades. The correlations between ZIC2 expression and clinicopathological parameters were investigated by bioinformatic analysis using UCSC Xena Browser in the light of data from The Cancer Genome Atlas. We used Kaplan-Meier analysis to assess the association between the level of ZIC2 and overall survival (OS), disease-
