Treatment of congenital short palate using bilateral buccal musculomucosal flaps.


ABSTRACT: A case of congenital short palate was treated by bilateral buccal musculomucosal flaps. The levator veli palatini muscle formed a continuous sling, but the anterior portion was attached to the posterior border of the hard palate. The speech outcome improved from severe to normal.
