Regioselective Alkylation of Pyridinium Riboses.

ABSTRACT: The nucleophilic addition of alkyl, benzyl, and allyl organozinc reagents to protected pyridinium riboses proceeds under mild conditions and with yields of >90% in several cases and complete regioselectivity for the 4-position.
