A novel ascomycetous genus, <i>Elongaticollum</i>, occurring on leaf litter of <i>Hedychium coronarium</i> (Zingiberaceae) in Taiwan, is described and illustrated. <i>Elongaticollum</i> is characterized by dark brown to black, superficial, obpyriform, pycnidial conidiomata with a distinct elongate neck, and oval to oblong, hyaline, aseptate conidia.
