Pteropine orthoreovirus (PRV; <i>Reoviridae</i>: <i>Spinareovirinae</i>) is an emerging bat-borne zoonotic virus that causes influenza-like illness (ILI). PRV has thus far been found only in Australia and Asia, where diverse old-world fruit bats (<i>Pteropodidae</i>) serve as hosts.
