ABSTRACT: Endovascular treatment (EVT) after ischemic stroke due to emergent large vessel occlusion is usually constrained by a specific window of less than 16 to 24 hours from the time the patient was last known well (LKW). Patients with slow progression and tenacious collateral circulation may persist beyond 16 hours. To estimate the prevalence of salvageable tissues 16 hours or more from LKW after ischemic stroke due to emergent large vessel occlusion and investigate the effectiveness of EVT in delayed large vessel occlusion.
