Long Non-Coding RNA BLACAT1 in Human Cancers.

ABSTRACT: Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are a cluster of RNAs with more than 200 nucleotides in length, which lack protein-coding capacity. They are important regulators of numerous cellular processes, including gene transcription, translation, and posttranslational modification, especially in tumor initiation and progression. Aberrant expression of lncRNA bladder cancer-associated transcript 1 (BLACAT1) has been reported in various human cancers and was usually associated with unfavorable prognosis. Previous studies have revealed that dysregulation of BLACAT1 could promote the proliferation and metastasis of cancer cells.
