Red sea bream iridovirus (RSIV) and Viral hemorrhagic septicemia virus (VHSV<b>)</b> are the most important viral marine pathogens in South Korea because RSIV and VHSV infect and cause high mortality rates in major fish species such as <i>Paralichthys olivaceus</i> and <i>Sebastes schlegelii</i>.
