The complete chloroplast genome sequence of Clematis Montana Buch.-Ham. (Ranunculaceae) and its phylogenetic analysis.

ABSTRACT: Clematis montana is a medicinal plant commonly used in southwest of China. The complete chloroplast (cp) genome sequence of C. montana was sequenced using the Illumina Hiseq 4000 platform. The cp genome of C. montana was 159,523 bp in length with 37.98% overall GC content. This circular molecule had a typical quadripartite structure containing a large single-copy (LSC) region of 79,385 bp, a small single-copy (SSC) region of 18,092 bp, and two inverted repeat (IR) regions of 31,023 bp. The cp genome contained 135 genes, including 91 protein-coding genes, 36 tRNA genes, and 8 rRNA genes. Phylogenetic analysis based on whole cp genome sequences showed that C. montana was closest to C. alternata.

Project description:Heritiera fomes Buch.-Ham. (1800) is a species of mangrove in the family Malvaceae, widely distributed in the Indo-Pacific and listed as 'endangered' (EN) on the International Union for Conservation of Nature's (IUCN) red list. We reported the complete chloroplast genome sequence of H. fomes. The genome was 168,521 bp in length and included two inverted repeats (IRs) of 34,496 bp, separated by a large single-copy (LSC) region of 88,604 bp and a small single-copy (SSC) region of 10,925 bp, respectively. The genome contained 87 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 8 rRNA genes, and 37 tRNA genes. The maximum-likelihood (ML) phylogenetic tree suggested that H. fomes is closely related to Heritiera angustata and Heritiera parvifolia with relatively high support bootstrap values of 86% and 100% with other species (Heritiera littoralis and Heritiera javanica), suggesting a relatively close genetic relationship between the five Heritiera plants. The chloroplast genome sequence provided a useful resource for conservation genetics studies of H. fomes and for phylogenetic studies of Heritiera.

Project description:The complete chloroplast genome sequence of Clematis mandshurica Ruprecht (1867), a specie of the Ranunculaceae family, and its phylogenetic relationships with other species have been reported in this study. The complete chloroplast genome of C. mandshurica is 159,563 bp in length, including a large single-copy (LSC) region of 79,360 bp, a small single-copy (SSC) region of 18,121 bp, and a pair of identical inverted repeat regions (IRs) of 31,041 bp. The genome encodes a total of 132 genes, including 90 protein-coding genes, 34 transfer RNA (tRNA) genes, and eight ribosomal RNA (rRNA) genes. The phylogenetic analysis reveals that C. mandshurica was found to be closest to Clematis taeguensis. The complete chloroplast genome of C. mandshurica contributes to a better understanding of phylogenetic relationships among Clematis species.

The chloroplast genome encodes a total of 135 genes, including 91 CDS genes, 36 tRNA genes, 8 rRNA genes. Phylogenetic analysis based on complete genes shows that C. hexapetala closely related to C. taeguensis in the genus Clematis. This study improves our comprehension of the chloroplast genome and its phylogenetic relationships within Ranunculaceae.

The genome was 159,675 base pair (bp) in length, containing a large single-copy (LSC) region of 79,443 bp, a small single-copy region (SSC) of 18,100 bp and a pair of inverted repeats (IRs) of 31,066 bp. It contains 130 unique genes, including 86 protein-coding genes, 36 transfer RNA (tRNA) genes, and eight ribosomal RNA (rRNA) genes. The GC content of the complete chloroplast genome sequence was 38.0%. Here, we reported the first complete chloroplast genome of D. moschatum. The complete genome of D. moschatum was 159,701 bp in length with 130 genes, including 38 tRNA, 8 rRNA, and 84 protein-coding genes. Phylogenetic analysis showed that D. moschatum was strongly allied with D. denneanum Kerr. 1933.

Complete chloroplast genome of Clematis taeguensis (Ranunculaceae), an endemic species from South Korea.

Project description:The complete chloroplast (cp) genome sequence of Clematis taeguensis Y.N.Lee (Ranunculaceae) was determined to be 159,534 bp in length, consisting of large (79,326 bp) and small (18,338 bp) single-copy regions and a pair of identical inverted repeats (30,935 bp). The genome contains 92 protein-coding genes, 32 tRNA genes, 8 rRNA genes, and 1 pseudogene (infA). Phylogenetic analysis of 19 taxa inferred from the chloroplast genome showed a relationship with C. taeguensis, which is also recognized as a species endemic to the Korean Peninsula. The complete cp genome sequence of C. taeguensis reported here provides important information for future phylogenetic and evolutionary studies in Ranunculaceae.

The result of the gene annotation identified the 135 genes in the chloroplast genome, including 91 protein-coding genes, 36 tRNA genes, and eight rRNA genes. The total amount of GC is 47.82%. In the phylogenetic analysis, C. chinensis Osbeck showed the closest relationship with Clematis uncinata.

The complete chloroplast genome sequence of Aconitum tschangbaischanense (Ranunculaceae).

Project description:The perennial herbal medicine species Aconitum tschangbaischanense, is endemic to Changhai Mountain, Jilin province. In this study, we attempted to uncover the complete chloroplast (cp) genome of A. tschangbaischanense based on sequencing data using the Illumina sequencing technology. As per the results: (1) the length of its complete cp genome is 155,881 bp with a typical tetrad structure; (2) the structure of its cp genome contains large single-copy and small single-copy (LSC and SSC) regions of 86,351 and 16,9444 bp, respectively, isolated by two inverted repeat regions (IRs) of 26,293 bp; (3) we annotated a total 131 genes, consisting of 86 protein-coding genes, eight rRNA genes, and 37 tRNA genes. According to the maximum-likelihood phylogenetic tree based on complete cp genomes, A. tschangbaischanense, showed close association with A. carmichaelii, which belongs to clade I. Finally, this study provides the characteristics of the cp genome of A. tschangbaischanense, and its phylogenetic position.
