The complete mitochondrial genome of Praia tianmunica (Hymenoptera: Cimbicidae) with related phylogenetic analysis.

ABSTRACT: The complete mitochondrial genome of Praia tianmunica is 15,556 bp long. It contains 37 genes and a control region of 505 bp in length. Gene rearrangement is present in the mitogenome of P. tianmunica. The maximum-likelihood and Bayesian phylogenetic analyses showed that the genus Praia was closely related to genus Labriocimbex.

Project description:Cyanopterus ninghais is an important gregarious ectoparasitoid during the larval stage of Monochamus alternatus, a key vector for pine wilt disease in Asia. In this study, the complete mitochondrial genome of C. ninghais was sequenced and analyzed. The mitochondrial genome of C. ninghais is 15,386 bp in length, comprising 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 transfer RNA genes (tRNAs), and 2 ribosomal RNA genes (rRNAs). The nucleotide composition is 41.32% A, 8.29% G, 6.06% C, and 44.33% T. Phylogenetic trees of Braconidae were constructed using 13 PCG sequences via Bayesian inference (BI) and maximum likelihood (ML) analyses to determine their phylogenetic position. Both ML and BI analyses revealed that C. ninghais is closely related to Euurobracon yokahamae, Virgulibracon endoxylaphagus, and Habrobracon hebetor.

The complete mitochondrial genome of Bombus filchnerae (Hymenoptera: Apidae) and phylogenetic analysis.

Project description:Here, we report the complete mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) of Bombus filchnerae (Hymenoptera: Apidae). The genome size of B. filchnerae was 18,553 bp with 88.7% A + T content, containing 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 tRNA genes, two rRNA genes, and an AT-rich control region (D-loop). tRNA rearrangement was observed in this mitochondrial genome when compared to those of other bumblebee species (e.g. Bombus breviceps and Bombus asiaticus). All the 13 PCGs initiated with typical ATN codons. Among them, 11 PCGs terminated with TAA, only nad4 and nad5 with incomplete stop codon TA and T, respectively. All the 22 tRNAs can be folded into typical cloverleaf structure, except for trnS1, whose dihydrouridine (DHU) arm forms a simple loop. The phylogenetic analysis based on the concatenated nucleotide sequences of all 13 PCGs indicated that B. filchnerae showed the closest relationship with Bombus pascuorum, forming a mono clade of the subgenus Thoracobombus, with well-resolved relationships among nine Bombus subgenera.

Compared to ancestral organization, seven tRNA genes were rearranged. Bayesian and maximum-likelihood trees recovered the monophyly of Tenthredinidae and A. proxima was the basal lineage. The mitogenome sequence provided fundamental data for resolving phylogenetic and genetic problems of Tenthredinidae.

The nucleotide compositions of C. luteus (43.7% A, 38.0% T, 7.4% G, and 10.9% C) were biased toward A and T. Based on Bayesian inference (BI) and Maximum Likelihood (ML) analyses, C. luteus was identified as one of the basal lineages of family Cimbicidae.

Project description:Trichogramma chilonis is a kind of ovoid parasitic wasp, which has important application value in the biological control of pests. In this study, we sequenced and analyzed the complete mitogenome T. chilonis to compare mitogenomic structures and reconstruct phylogenetic relationships. The complete mitogenome sequence of T. chilonis is circular, 16,176 bp in size and encodes 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 2 ribosomal RNA genes (rRNA), 22 transfer RNA genes (tRNA), and a control region (CR). Nucleotide composition is highly biased toward A + T nucleotides (85.2%). All 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs) initiate with the standard start codon of ATN and terminate with the typical stop codon TAA/TAG. Phylogenetic analyses were performed using amino acids of 13 PCGs showed that T. chilonis is closely related to Trichogramma ostriniae.

The overall A + T content is 79.5%. tRNA rearrangements occur in the MQI cluster. Phylogenetic analysis of H. brevigenatus resolved it in a clade with Allantus togatus in Allantinae which provides new evidence for the phylogeny of Tenthredinidae.

Complete mitochondrial genome of the stingless bee Lepidotrigona terminata (Hymenoptera: Meliponinae) and phylogenetic analysis.

Project description:Lepidotrigona terminata (Smith, 1878) is a stingless bee that distributed in Eastern Asia. The complete mitogenome of L. terminata (GenBank accession number MN737481) is 15,431 bp in size, including 13 protein-coding genes, 22 transfer RNAs, two ribosomal RNAs genes, and a noncoding D-loop region. The D-loop region is located between ND4L and tRNAMet, different from the other two stingless bee mitogenomes previously reported. The base composition of the whole L. terminata mitogenome is 38.18% for A, 11.67% for G, 38.32% for T, and 11.83% for C, with a high AT bias of 76.50%. The present data could contribute to a detailed phylogeographic analysis of this valuable economic insect for further study in differentiating closely related species.

Project description:The complete mitochondrial genome of Pachycephus smyrnensis Stein, 1876 collected from Sivas, Turkey, is described. The circled genome is 20,393 bp in length and contains a typical set of 37 genes. The missing control regions, trnQ and trnI in previously reported P. smyrnensis (KX907846) were obtained in this precise assembly based on a considerable amount of raw data. A denser sampled phylogenetic analysis shows that the two P. smyrnensis constitute a branch sister to P. cruentatus (Eversmann, 1847). Pachycephus is a sister group of Phylloecus within Hartigiinae and remote from Characopygus, a genus within Cephinae. The monophyly of Pachycephini has been rejected.

Three tRNA genes rearrangements were found compared to the ancestral organization. Phylogenetic analysis results based on heterogeneity models of 46 Symphytan and two Apocritan strongly supported that C. zhongi was closely related to Siobla xizangensis.
