The complete mitochondrial genome of Anoplistes halodendri (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae).

ABSTRACT: In this study, we report the complete mitochondrial genome of Anoplistes halodendri, which covers a total of 15,697 bp in length with 28.27% GC content. The complete mitochondrial genome is composed of 12 protein-coding genes (PCGs) and also contains 22 transfer RNA genes (tRNAs) and two ribosomal RNA genes (rRNAs). Phylogenetic analysis of the A. halodendri with other 21 different species of Cerambycidae indicated that A. halodendri formed an isolated clade and belong to Cerambycinae. The results will be helpful to study the evolutionary relationship among the subfamilies of Cerambycidae.

The genome was a circular molecule of 15,499 base pairs (bp), with 13 protein-coding genes, 22 transfer RNA genes, 2 ribosomal RNA genes, and an estimated 830 bp A + T-rich control region. The total base composition of the mitogenome was A-T bias, with 40.9% for A, 37.0% for T, 13.4% for C, and 8.7% for G. The molecular data presented here would be useful for further study of O. diversipes.

The length of the complete mitochondria genome of A. unicolor was 15,760 bp with 19.0% GC content, including 40.5% A, 10.8% C, 8.2% G and 40.5% T. There were 13 protein-coding genes (CDS), 22 transfer RNA genes (tRNA), 2 ribosomal RNA genes (rRNA), and an AT-rich region. Phylogenetic analysis showed that A. unicolor was closely related to Spondylis buprestoides. This study provides useful genetic information for subsequent prevention of A. unicolor.

Project description:Spondylis buprestoides is a major boring pest of Cerambycidae, which mainly damaging conifers and also can carry pine wood nematode, Bursaphelenchus xylophilus. In this study, the complete mitochondrial genome of S. buprestoides was determined by Illumina sequencing technology. The whole mitogenome was 15,837 bp in length with 20.05% GC content, which contains 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 transfer RNA genes (tRNAs), and 2 ribosomal RNA genes (rRNAs). Phylogenetic analysis showed that S. buprestoides was closely related to Lepturinae. The sequence data of S. buprestoides could provide useful genetic information for the studies on phylogenetic and evolutionary of Cerambycidae.

This study revealed the length of the complete mitochondrial genome of A. perplexa which consists of 15,552 bp length with 39.8% A, 12.8% C, 8.4% G, and 39.1% T, respectively. The GC content of whole mitochondrial genome is 21.1%. The complete mitochondrial genome encodes 12 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 tRNAs, two rRNAs, and one AT-rich region. This study can facilitate further research about genetic evolution as well as prevention and control strategy of A. perplexa.

The complete mitochondrial genome of Monochamus dubius Gahan (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae).

Project description:In this study, we sequenced the complete mitochondrial genome of Monochamus dubius Gahan 1894. The results showed that the length of complete mitochondrial genome was 16,029 bp with 22.22% GC content, containing 39.4% A, 38.4% T, 13.4% C, 8.8% G. There were 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 transfer RNA genes (tRNA), two ribosomal RNA genes (rRNA) and one AT-rich region. Phylogenetic analysis showed that M. dubius was clustered with Monochamus urussovii and Monochamus alternatus alternatus, and confirmed the sister relationship among the genus Monochamus, Anoplophora, and Aristobia from Cerambycidae. The complete mitogenome of M. dubius would help understand the classification and phylogeny of Chrysomeloidea.

The complete mitochondrial genome of Priotyrannus closteroides Thomson, 1877 (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae).

Project description:Priotyrannus closteroides Thomson, 1877 (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) is the trunk borer of orange trees. In this study, we sequenced and annotated the whole mitochondrial genome of P. closteroides. The results showed that the length of the complete mitochondrial genome is 15,854 bp with an overall GC content of 32.11%. The genome encodes 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 transfer RNA genes (tRNAs), and two ribosomal RNA genes (rRNAs). The relevant phylogenetic tree distinctly showed that P. closteroides is clustered with Dorysthenes paradoxus and Dorysthenes granulosus. This study provides a piece of valuable genomic information for the population genetics, evolution, and classification of P. closteroides.

The complete mitochondrial genome of Batocera rubus Linnaeus, 1785 (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae).

Project description:Batocera rubus severely impacts on the health of banyan trees. In this study, the whole mitochondrial genome for B. rubus was found to be 16,158 bp with a GC content of 23.9%, including 39.1% A, 37.0% T, 14.8% C, and 9.1% G. This genome contains 13 protein-coding genes, 22 tRNAs, and two rRNAs. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that B. rubus is close to Batocera celebiana. This study provides valuable information that can help improve the classification and phylogeny of B. rubus and facilitate further evolutionary studies.

Characterization of the complete mitochondrial genome of Purpuricenus temminckii (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae).

Project description:The complete mitochondrial genome of Purpuricenus temminckii (GenBank accession number MN527358) is 15,689 bp in length, and contains 13 protein-coding genes, 22 transfer RNA genes (tRNAs), 2 ribosomal RNA genes, and a putative control region. The overall base composition is A (39.56%), C (17.52%), G (10.90%), and T (32.02%), with a high AT bias of 71.58%. All tRNAs have the typical cloverleaf structure except for trnS1 and the length of them range from 62 to 71 bp. Phylogenetic tree showed that P. temminckii was clustered with three Cerambycidae species, which agree with the traditional classification.

Project description:The chinaberry yellow-banded longhorn beetle, Anoplophora horsfieldi Hope 1842 (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) is an important pest on many economic tree species. In this study, the complete mitochondrial genome of A. horsfieldi was determined, which was 15,837 bp in length and contained 37 genes, including 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), two rRNA, 22 tRNA genes, and a non-coding A + T-rich region. The phylogenetic analysis based on mitochondrial genomes showed that A. horsfieldi is sister to a clade formed by A. chinensis and A. glabripennis.
