Barnyard grass (<i>Echinochloa colona</i>, (L.) Link) is the wild relative of barnyard millet (<i>E. frumentacea</i> (Roxb.) Link). This species, widely distributed globally, is an agricultural weed and has developed resistance to several herbicides including glyphosate.
