Evaluation of Cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) Leaf Abscission Sensitivity Triggered by Thidiazuron through Membership Function Value.

ABSTRACT: Chemical defoliation is an essential agricultural practice in cotton production for mechanic harvesting. Thidiazuron (TDZ) is the active ingredient of the chemical defoliant used on cotton. So far, few studies havefocused on the method of identifying the sensitivity of cotton cultivars to TDZ. Therefore, a greenhouse soil culture experiment was performed by using two widely cultivatedupland cotton cultivars CRI 49 and CRI 12 treated with seven different concentrations (0, 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, and 1000 mg L-1) of TDZ at the seedling stage to establish a screening system.
