ABSTRACT: Affective disorders (depression and anxiety), psychosis, impulse control disorders, and apathy are common and sometimes disabling psychiatric conditions in Parkinson disease (PD). Psychiatric aspects of PD are associated with numerous adverse outcomes, yet in spite of this and their high frequency, there remains incomplete understanding of epidemiology, presentation, risk factors, neural substrate, and management strategies. Psychiatric features are typically co- or multimorbid, and there is great intra- and interindividual variability in presentation [1].
