Norepinephrine (NE), the stress hormone, stimulates many bacterial species' growth and virulence, including <i>Escherichia coli</i>. However, the hormone's impact on the adherent-invasive <i>E. coli</i> (AIEC) implicated in Crohn's disease is poorly understood.
