Christianson syndrome (CS), an X-linked neurological disorder characterized by postnatal attenuation of brain growth (postnatal microcephaly), is caused by mutations in <i>SLC9A6</i>, the gene encoding endosomal Na<sup>+</sup>/H<sup>+</sup> exchanger 6 (NHE6).
