Four new species of the genus Cratospila Foerster (Hymenopter, Braconidae, Alysiinae) from South Korea.

ABSTRACT: The species of the genus Cratospila Foerster, 1863 (Braconidae, Alysiinae) from South Korea are revised, and the genus is recorded for the first time from South Korea. All four species are new to science, and Cratospila albifera sp. nov., C. ejuncida sp. nov., C. luteocephala sp. nov., and C. syntoma sp. nov. are described and illustrated herein. In addition, COI has been sequenced of three species. A key to the Korean species is provided.

Project description:Five new species of the genus Phaenocarpa Foester, 1863 (Braconidae: Alysiinae) are described and illustrated: P.acutidentata Sohn & van Achterberg, sp. nov., P.tacitoides Sohn & van Achterberg, sp. nov., P.setosa Sohn & van Achterberg, sp. nov., P.tanycauda Sohn & van Achterberg, sp. nov., and P.angusticeps Sohn & van Achterberg, sp. nov. Additionally, P.tacita Stelfox, 1941 is recorded for the first time from South Korea. The barcode region of mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase I (COI) was also analyzed for the seven congeneric species including one from GenBank. In addition, an identification key for the Phaenocarpa species recorded in Korea is provided.

Aspilota isfahanensis, a new species of the genus Aspilota Foerster, 1863 from Iran (Hymenoptera, Braconidae, Alysiinae).

Project description:A new species of Aspilota without mesoscutal pit, Aspilota isfahanensis Peris-Felipo, sp. n., is described and illustrated from Iran. The new species is compared with its three morphologically most similar species, Aspilota compressiventris Stelfox & Grahan, 1951, Aspilota makita Papp, 2008 and Aspilota spiracula Munk & Peris-Felipo, 2013, is provided. A key to the western Asian species of Aspilota is provided.

First record of subgenus Synaldis Foerster (Hymenoptera, Braconidae, Alysiinae, Dinotrema Foerster) from Chile, with description of ten new species.

Project description:Synaldis is a taxon within the Aspilota group with a contentious taxonomic history, currently classified as a subgenus of the genus Dinotrema. Species of Synaldis were only documented in the Neotropical region in 2017, and until then, the Neotropical fauna of this subgenus was represented by five species from Brazil. In this study, Synaldis is reported for the first time in Chile, with the description and illustration of ten new species, namely: Dinotrema (Synaldis) acarinareolatumsp. nov., D. (S.) brunneumsp. nov., D. (S.) chilensesp. nov., D. (S.) daltonisp. nov., D. (S.) flavumsp. nov., D. (S.) latusdentertiumsp. nov., D. (S.) perisfelipoisp. nov., D. (S.) pilosicaudatumsp. nov., D. (S.) puyehuesp. nov., and D. (S.) veraesp. nov. The studied specimens were collected during expeditions to southern Chile, in the Valdivian temperate rainforest at Parque Nacional de Puyehue. This study also includes a dichotomous identification key for Neotropical species of Synaldis, as well as a discussion of the primary morphological characters used to distinguish species within the Neotropical and Nearctic regions.

Some biological notes are supplied for Paralipsis tibiator sp. n. A key to the four known species is added and all species are illustrated.

Two new Palaearctic species of Xynobius Foerster (Hymenoptera, Braconidae, Opiinae).

Project description:Two new and very similar species of the genus Xynobius Foerster, 1863 are described and illustrated, X.subparallelus Han & van Achterberg, sp. nov. from Japan (Honshu) and X.setosiscutum van Achterberg, sp. nov. from Norway. Three species are newly reported from Norway: Xynobiusaciculatus (Thomson, 1895), X.comatus (Wesmael, 1835), and X.polyzonius (Wesmael, 1835). X.polyzonius (Wesmael, 1835) and X.sapporanus (Fischer, 1963) are new combinations. Identification keys to the Xynobius species known from Norway and Japan are added.

Project description:The alysiine genus Adelurola Strand, 1928 (Hymenoptera, Braconidae) is revised. Illustrated re-descriptions and a key to all known species of this genus are given. The following new combination is proposed: Dapsilarthra eurys (Chen & Wu, 1994), comb. n. Adelurola amplidens (Fischer, 1966) and Adelurola asiatica Telenga, 1935 are recorded for the first time from Iran and Kyrgyzstan, respectively.

Project description:Taxonomic combinations have been made involving the two genera Idiasta Foerster and Rhacalysia Cameron. Four new species are described from Brazil: Idiasta rupina sp. nov., Rhacalysia ampla sp. nov., Rhacalysia jatai sp. nov., and Rhacalysia monteiroi sp. nov. Dichotomous identification keys to the Neotropical species of Idiasta and Rhacalysia are provided. Phaenocarpa delicata Papp, 1969 is included in Rhacalysia and is a new combination.
