Drugs targeting type 4 dipeptidyl peptidase (DPP-4) are beneficial for glycemic control, whereas fibroblast activation protein alpha (FAP-α) is a potential target for cancer therapies. Unlike other gliptins, linagliptin displays FAP inhibition.
