Pacific sardine <i>Sardinops sagax</i> (Jenyns, 1842), a sardine species that widely distributes in Pacific, is an important commercial species in many areas. In this study, we characterized the complete mitochondrial genome of <i>S. sagax</i> using next generation sequencing technology.
