Draft Genome Sequences of Blastococcus sp. Clones TML/M2B and TML/C7B, with Different Motilities, Isolated in a Laboratory.

ABSTRACT: Two novel Blastococcus sp. clones, TML/M2B and TML/C7B, with 2 different stable growth phenotypes, were isolated from a laboratory tissue culture. The draft genome sequences generated through genomic sequencing of clones TML/M2B and TML/C7B contain 4 and 2 contigs, respectively. The respective genome sizes are 4.10 Mb and 4.11 Mb, with G+C contents of 74.17% and 74.14%, respectively.

Project description:The genus Saccharibacter is currently understudied, with only one described species, Saccharibacter floricola, isolated from a flower. In an effort to better understand the microbes that come in contact with native bee pollinators, we isolated and sequenced four additional strains of Saccharibacter from native bees in the genera Melissodes and Anthophora These genomes range in size from 2,104,494 to 2,316,791 bp (mean, 2,246,664 bp) and contain between 1,860 and 2,167 (mean, 2,060) protein-coding genes.

Project description:In recent years, the concept of bacteria-mediated cancer therapy has gained significant attention as an alternative to conventional therapy. The focus has been on non-typhoidal Salmonella (NTS), particularly S. Typhimurium, for its anti-cancer properties, however, other NTS serovars such as Salmonella Oslo, which are associated with foodborne illnesses could potentially be effective anti-cancer agents. Project description:We report the draft genome sequences for Rhodococcus sp. strains YH1 and T7. These strains are both capable of degrading hexahydro-1,3,5-trinitro-1,3,5-triazine (RDX) and were isolated from explosive-contaminated soil and groundwater, respectively. Further genomic analysis might facilitate an understanding of the degradation of RDX and will contribute to the development of bioremediation methods for polluted soil and groundwater.

All these are closely related to Vibrio alginolyticus. Their comparative genome information is useful for studies of TTX production in bacteria.
