Scorfuloderma of cheek (a cutaneous tuberculosis colliquativa cutis): Case report.

ABSTRACT:

Introduction

Scrofuloderma is the most common form of cutaneous tuberculosis. The facial location is unusual and requires special care.

Discussion

The diagnosis of cutaneous tuberculosis is difficult due to the polymorphism of the anatomo-clinical pictures as well as the difficulty of isolating the causal agent. The combination of a range of clinical and paraclinical arguments justifies starting antibacillary treatment.

Conclusion

Tuberculosis is endemic disease in our country; this endemicity is attested by the multiple cases of cutaneous tuberculosis reported in the literature.

Project description:Cutis laxa (CL) is a heterogeneous group of inherited and acquired connective tissue disorders characterized by a loose skin and variable systemic involvement (inguinal hernia, cardiopulmonary disease, and emphysema). Autosomal dominant, autosomal recessive and x-linked recessive patterns have been described in the inherited forms. Acquired forms of this disease have been associated with a previous inflammatory skin disorder (urticaria…). The characteristic symptomatological pattern is resulting from paucity of elastic fibers. We report an 18 months old baby boy with a congenital cutis laxa. He was admitted in pediatric unit for respiratory disorders. The diagnosis of CL syndrome is based on clinical assessment of typical skin features and the associated extracutaneous finding.

Congenital Cutis Laxa: A Case Report and Literature Review.

Project description:Cutis Laxa is a rare connective tissue disease featuring inelastic and saggy skin. It is thought that plastic surgery might be the most effective treatment, while the previous pieces of literature on the surgical treatment for Cutis Laxa complained of the recurrence. We report a patient of Congenital Cutis Laxa who has received systematic and sequential treatment based on plastic surgery. The patient is content with the effect of treatment, and there are no signs of recurrence after 5 months. By referring to relevant pieces of literature, we evaluate the clinical manifestations and diagnosis of the disease. A multi-step, systematic, and sequential treatment is recommended for the treatment of Congenital Cutis Laxa.

Project description:IntroductionDefects caused after tumor resection should be closed with flaps that match the neighboring cheek's skin.Presentation of casethe authors report a patient diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma and its management. A 50-year-old man patient presented with a painless slow swelling in the left cheek, which had increased in size in the last four months, tobacco smoking, and alcohol intake for 15 years. Clinical examination revealed left cheek swelling without any lymph nodes at the palpation.DiscussionReconstruction of the full-thickness is a real challenge. The deltopectoral flap offers several advantages despite the increasing use of microvascular reconstruction; technically is a simple and reliable flap that is preferred for the reconstruction of large through-and-through defects after resection of oral carcinoma. Preoperative planning of flap and early recognition of issues can avoid postoperative complications.ConclusionThis reconstruction technique was demonstrated in large, full-thickness defects involving the cheek.

Aleukemic congenital leukemia cutis preceding monocytic leukemia with favorable outcome: A case report.

Project description:A newborn girl had typical "blueberry muffin" skin lesions, which shows histopathologic features of monocytic leukemia cutis. The systemic leukemia was demonstrated after one month of life. She was treated by chemotherapy, including induction and three consolidation cures, according to the ELAM02 protocol, which led to complete remission. This case report with congenital form of AML5 cutaneous localization, preceding systemic involvement, with a 5-year follow-up and positive outcome is remarkable.
