Several disorders are related to amyloid aggregation of proteins, for example Alzheimer's or Parkinson's diseases. Amyloid proteins form fibrils of aggregated beta structures. This is preceded by formation of oligomers-the most cytotoxic species. Determining amyloidogenicity is tedious and costly.
