Pathogenic mutations in LAMIN A/C (LMNA) cause abnormal nuclear structure and laminopathies. These diseases have myriad tissue-specific phenotypes, including dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM), but how LMNA mutations result in tissue-restricted disease phenotypes remains unclear.
