ABSTRACT: Background: As desensitization protocols become more readily available and published, more institutions are implementing them and searching for ways to streamline the process. There have been no published studies to date on the effect that electronic medical record systems (EMR) have on the safety and efficiency of β-lactam antibiotic desensitization. Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the changes in workflow, efficiency, and medical errors after implementation of β-lactam antibiotic desensitization.
