NompC is a mechanosensitive ion channel responsible for the sensation of touch and balance in <i>Drosophila melanogaster</i>. Based on a resolved cryo-EM structure, we performed all-atom molecular dynamics simulations and electrophysiological experiments to study the atomistic details of NompC gating.
