Transient receptor potential (TRP) channels participate in calcium ion (Ca<sup>2+</sup>) influx and intracellular Ca<sup>2+</sup> release. TRP channels have not been studied in <i>Toxoplasma gondii</i> or any other apicomplexan parasite.
