ABSTRACT: Venous access devices (VADs) play an important role in different clinical contexts. In pediatric subjects, VAD placement is more complicated than in adults due to children's poor cooperativity and reduced vascular access. Adherence to guidelines for the placement of VADs could prevent the occurrence of complications, but data in the literature are general and not exhaustive, especially with regard to the pediatric population. The objective of this study was to assess adherence to guidelines for the placement of VADs in a pediatric setting.
