A new species of <i>Pristionchus</i> was isolated from fruiting bodies of the wood-decaying fungus <i>Trametes orientalis</i> collected from Kyoto, Japan. Attempts to culture it using bacteria, yeast, and freeze-killed wax moth larvae as food or substrate failed.
