Brachial Artery Access as a Novel Alternative for Impella 2.5 Insertion.

ABSTRACT: We describe a novel approach for percutaneous insertion of the Impella 2.5 (Abiomed Inc., Danvers, Massachusetts) through the brachial artery in 2 patients with inaccessible femoral arteries. Placement of the Impella 2.5 via the brachial artery was feasible and enabled the required hemodynamic support, with no procedural complications. (Level of Difficulty: Intermediate.).
