Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) is associated with both diffuse axonal injury (DAI) and diffuse vascular injury (DVI), which result from inertial shearing forces. These terms are often used interchangeably, but the spatial relationships between DAI and DVI have not been carefully studied.
