Thermostable direct hemolysin (TDH) is the major virulence determinant of the gastroenteric bacterial pathogen <i>Vibrio parahaemolyticus</i>. TDH is a membrane-damaging pore-forming toxin (PFT). TDH shares remarkable structural similarity with the actinoporin family of eukaryotic PFTs produced by the sea anemones.
