ABSTRACT: Five new species of the genus Macrothele Ausserer, 1871 are described from China: Macrothele emei Lin & Li, sp. nov. (♂♀, Sichuan), M. hanfeii Lin & Li, sp. nov. (♂♀, Hainan), M. hungae Lin & Li, sp. nov. (♂♀, Taiwan), M. limenghuai Lin & Li, sp. nov. (♂♀, Sichuan), and M. nanning Lin & Li, sp. nov. (♂♀, Guangxi). Types of the new species are deposited in the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing, China.

A new species of Chaetopelma Ausserer, 1871 (Araneae, Theraphosidae) from Iran.

Project description:New data on the tarantula genus Chaetopelma Ausserer, 1871 are provided. A new species, Ch.persianumsp. nov., is described based on a single female specimen collected in northwestern Iran, which represents the easternmost record of the genus within its entire known range. Additionally, the correct publication date of Ch.olivaceum C.L. Koch, 1842 is discussed, and the known distribution records of all Chaetopelma species are mapped.

Project description:Based on molecular and morphological phylogenetic analyses a new genus of Theraphosidae is described, Pseudoclamoris gen. n. Tapinaucheniusgigas and Tapinaucheniuselenae are transferred to Pseudoclamoris and a new species of Pseudoclamoris from the Amazon Region is described: P.burgessi sp. n. Two new species of Tapinauchenius from the Caribbean are described: T.rasti sp. n. and T.polybotes sp. n. Tapinaucheniussubcaeruleus is considered a nomen dubium. Psalmopoeinae subfamily is diagnosed based on molecular and morphological phylogenies, and Pseudoclamoris gen. n. and Ephebopus Simon, 1892 are included. A taxonomic key for Psalmopoeinae genera Tapinauchenius, Pseudoclamoris, Psalmopoeus, and Ephebopus is provided.
