Effects of biopsychosocial factors on the association between loneliness and mental health risks during the COVID-19 lockdown.

ABSTRACT: Previous data suggest that loneliness is a hallmark of the mental health issues triggered by the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. The purpose of the present study was to examine the impact of loneliness on mental health and behavioural outcomes, as well as the moderating and mediating effects of biopsychosocial variables on these relationships. The data were collected during France's first national COVID-19 lockdown and included 556 participants (M _age = 30.06 years, range = 18-87) who completed well-known validated measures assessing symptom-levels of anxiety, depression, and insomnia.
