ABSTRACT: Researchers have mentioned the importance of digitization in improving efficiency and productivity in Small and Medium Enterprises (SME). Fortunately, there is no proof that Digitization can be used to deal with the outcome of severe incidents like COVID-19. The research paper suggested that the increased rate of SMEs has increased significantly. This was entirely due to the advent of Digital Technology (DT). In this way, both product and the process become more automated in digitalization, resulting in increased quality and demand. Considering the high scope for higher development, India's SME sector still has much space for new digital technologies to be integrated. This paper addresses the main scenario of SMEs in India and their benefit in GDP. Also, the research includes a brief analysis of CRM applications and digital payment options in SMEs.

Project description:ObjectiveFor leaders of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) grappling with diverse tasks and stressors, personality functioning can play a key role on stress perception and building and managing professional relationships. We investigated the relationship between SME leaders' personality functioning on the dimensions of self-perception and self-regulation on perceived stress reactivity (PSR), and symptoms of anxiety and depression.MethodsA cross-sectional sub analysis of a multi-centre RCT project was performed. A sample of N = 174 SME leaders from various sectors in southern Germany were examined on their self-rated levels of personality functioning (OPD-SQ), involving self-perception (facets: self-reflection, affect differentiation, sense of identity) and self-reflection (facets: impulse control, affect tolerance, regulation of self-esteem), with higher scores indicating lower levels of personality functioning. The outcome variables were perceived stress reactivity (PSRS) and symptoms of depression and anxiety (HADS).ResultsThe mean score for symptoms of anxiety was M = 6.13 (SD = 3.34), depression M = 4.40 (SD = 3.35), and for PSRS M = 21.39 (SD = 8.04). The mean sum score for self-perception was M = 7.71 (SD = 7.19) and for self-regulation M = 10.50 (SD = 7.09). The results of three regression models showed that higher scores for affect differentiation (rsp = .13), impulse control (rsp = .14) and regulation of self-esteem (rsp = .29) were associated with higher scores for PSR. Higher scores for affect differentiation (rsp = .17) and affect tolerance (rsp = .20) were significantly associated with higher scores for anxiety. A higher score for regulation of self-esteem (rsp = .17) was associated with higher depression scores.ConclusionThis study highlights the association between core dimensions of SME leaders' personality functioning and mental distress. The findings can be applied on interventions and health promotion and the establishment of high-quality professional relationships and leadership skills.

Project description:Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) significantly contribute to national economic development worldwide. However, numerous factors affect the growth of SMEs, particularly in developing economies. Due to the complexity of these variables, it is challenging to determine where to begin improving SMEs. This study aims to identify and analyse the factors that hinder the overall performance of (SMEs) to gain insights into the principal variables constituting problems. A literature survey identified and abstracted 36 variables that influence SME growth. A structured questionnaire was created using the variables and administered to the respondents in the SME sector. We collated and converted the respondents' scores into primary data. The data was analysed using Kendall's Coefficient of Concordance (W) and Principal Component Analytics (PCA) tools, and the results were presented. The result of Kendall's Coefficient of Concordance analysis was (W) = 0.52, indicating that the judges strongly agree that the 36 variables affect SME growth. The PCA analysis identified the critical variables affecting SME growth. These variables, along with their corresponding factor loading, include Marketing information = 0.80, Cost of transportation = 0.81, Information technology = 0.83, Economic initiatives = -0.83, Financial constraints = -0.80, Cultural change = 0.80, Technical know-how = 0.822, Economic factors = -0.80, and Business information system = 0.813. The implication of the study's findings for management is that SMEs should begin process improvement for effective overall performance by addressing the problems associated with the critical variables. The perceived limitation of the study is that the respondents' opinions may not reflect 100 % of the opinions of the unsampled population in the SME sector. This study's originality includes (i) holistic documentation of the myriad of variables influencing SMEs, which are fragmented in the literature, and (ii) pinpointing the critical variables affecting SME development with measurable evidence not found in the literature.
