Association between CTLA-4 gene polymorphism and risk of rheumatoid arthritis: a meta-analysis.

ABSTRACT: Cytotoxic T lymphocyte-associated protein 4 (CTLA-4) gene polymorphisms may be involved in the risk of Rheumatoid arthritis (RA). However, evidence for the association remains controversial. Therefore, we performed a meta-analysis to confirm the relationship between CTLA-4 gene polymorphisms and RA. The pooled odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated to assess the strength of association. Stratified analysis was conducted by ethnicity. In total, 66 case-control studies including 21681 cases and 23457 controls were obtained.
