Lysine malonylation is a kind of post-translational modifications (PTMs) discovered in recent years, which plays an important regulatory role in plants. Maize (<i>Zea mays</i> L.) is a major global cereal crop. Immunoblotting revealed that maize was rich in malonylated proteins.
