The Nazeris fauna of the Nanling Mountain Range, China (Coleoptera, Staphylinidae, Paederinae).

ABSTRACT: Fourteen species of Nazeris Fauvel, 1873 are reported for the Nanling Mountain Range, China. Four of them are described as new: N.xingmini Lin & Hu, sp. nov. (Guangdong, Jiangxi), N.huaiweni Lin & Hu, sp. nov. (Guangdong), N.meihuaae Lin & Hu, sp. nov. (Guangdong, Jiangxi) and N.lichongi Lin & Hu, sp. nov. (Hunan). An identification key to the Nazeris species reported for the Nanling Mountains, and a map showing their distribution are provided.

Project description:Material of the paederine genus Lathrobium Gravenhorst, 1802 from the Nanling National Nature Reserve, southern China, is examined. Four species are identified, one of them described previously. Three species are described and illustrated for the first time, all of them micropterous and locally endemic: L.yangyihani Lin & Peng sp. nov., L.jiaxingyangi Lin & Peng sp. nov., and L.wangxingmini Lin & Peng sp. nov. The female sexual characters of L.guangdongense Peng & Li, 2014 are described and illustrated for the first time. Including the new taxa, 224 Lathrobium species are currently known from mainland China.

Project description:Six species of Lathrobium Gravenhorst, 1802 from the Emei Shan, Sichuan, are described and illustrated: Lathrobium iunctum Assing & Peng sp. n., Lathrobium coniunctum Assing & Peng sp. n., Lathrobium conexum Assing & Peng sp. n., Lathrobium ensigerum Assing & Peng sp. n., Lathrobium hastatum Assing & Peng sp. n., and Lathrobium bisinuatum Assing & Peng sp. n. Based on their primary and secondary sexual characters, they represent two distinct lineages, each of them comprising three species. A key to the species recorded from the Emei Shan is provided.

Project description:Species of the genus Lathrobium Gravenhorst from Longwangshan Mountain, Zhejiang, East China are studied. A total of five species are recognized, among which three are described here as new: Lathrobium lingaesp. n., Lathrobium longwangshanensesp. n. and Lathrobium uncumsp. n., one species was unidentified and the female of Lathrobium tianmushanense Watanabe is newly reported. All of these species are illustrated and keyed.
