Hereditary ectodermal dysplasias are a complex group of inherited disorders characterised by abnormalities in two or more ectodermal derivatives (skin, nails, sweat glands, <i>etc.</i>). There are two main types of these disorders - hidrotic and hypohidrotic/anhidrotic ectodermal dysplasias.
