Autosomal dominant (AD) and autosomal recessive (AR) polycystic kidney diseases (PKD) are severe multisystem genetic disorders characterized with formation and uncontrolled growth of fluid-filled cysts in the kidney, the spread of which eventually leads to the loss of renal function.
