<i>Pectobacterium parmentieri</i> is a plant-pathogenic bacterium, recently attributed as a separate species, which infects potatoes, causing soft rot in tubers. The distribution of <i>P. parmentieri</i> seems to be global, although the bacterium tends to be accommodated to moderate climates.
