Dual-specificity phosphatases (DUSPs) are defined by their capability to dephosphorylate both phosphoserine/phosphothreonine (pSer/pThr) and phosphotyrosine (pTyr). DUSP5, a member of DUSPs superfamily, is located in the nucleus and plays crucially regulatory roles in the signaling pathway transduction.
