Abstract

Human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination in young women is low. Women aged 21 to 65 years in the United States (U.S.) have not reached the Healthy People 2020 objective of 93% for cervical cancer screening. The main aim of this study was to investigate the association between HPV vaccination status and cervical cancer screening among privately insured women aged 21 to 26 years in the U.S.This was a retrospective cohort study using the IBM MarketScan database (2006-2016). The study population included 190,982 HPV-vaccinated women and 763,928 matched unvaccinated women.
