The complete mitochondrial genome sequence of Taxonus zhangi Wei, 1997 (Hymenoptera: Tenthredinidae) with phylogenetic analysis.

ABSTRACT: The complete mitochondrial genome of Taxonus zhangi was 16,002 bp in size, comprises 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), two rRNA genes, 22 tRNA genes, and large non-coding A + T region. The phylogenetic result confirms the monophyly of Taxonina and Allantina, and also supports that Xenapateini is the sister group of Allantini which is composed of Taxonina and Allantina.

Project description:The mitochondrial genome of Hemathlophorus brevigenatus Wei, 2005 collected from Huanggang Mountain of China is described using the NGS approach. The length of the sequence is 15,452 bp containing 13 protein-coding genes, 22 transfer RNA genes, two ribosomal RNA genes, and one control region. The overall A + T content is 79.5%. tRNA rearrangements occur in the MQI cluster. Phylogenetic analysis of H. brevigenatus resolved it in a clade with Allantus togatus in Allantinae which provides new evidence for the phylogeny of Tenthredinidae.

Project description:We assembled the near-complete mitochondrial genome of Colochela zhongi Wei, 2016 with next-generation sequencing (NGS). The total genome size of C. zhongi was 15,095 bp with 80.6% A + T content, containing 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 tRNA genes, and two rRNA genes. Three tRNA genes rearrangements were found compared to the ancestral organization. Phylogenetic analysis results based on heterogeneity models of 46 Symphytan and two Apocritan strongly supported that C. zhongi was closely related to Siobla xizangensis.

It contains 37 genes, and an 859 bp control region. The trnI (+)-trnQ (-)-trnM (+) cluster rearranges to trnM (+)-trnQ (-)-CR-trnI (+). Phylogenetic analysis demonstrates that Allantinae is a sister group of Tenthredininae and T. sinicus is one of the basal lineages of Allantinae.

Project description:The nearly complete mitochondrial genome of Athalia proxima is 15852 bp in size, containing 13 protein-coding genes, 22 transfer RNAs, 2 ribosomal RNAs, and a partial control region. Compared to ancestral organization, seven tRNA genes were rearranged. Bayesian and maximum-likelihood trees recovered the monophyly of Tenthredinidae and A. proxima was the basal lineage. The mitogenome sequence provided fundamental data for resolving phylogenetic and genetic problems of Tenthredinidae.

Project description:The nearly complete mitochondrial genome of Birmella discoidalisa Wei, 1994 has been sequenced and the genome was revised with more comprehensively sequenced to near completion. The new mitogenome sequences were constructed using two separate assembly approaches, both yielding consistent results. Compared with the sequence previously reported (MF197548.1), the trnI (+) and trnQ (-) genes were assembled, and the trnI (+)-trnQ (-) genes were rearranged compared with the ancestral type. The systematic classification of B. discoidalisa was examined to provide a basis for allocation into Tenthredinidae phylogeny.

Nearly complete mitochondrial genome of Siobla xizangensis Xiao, Huang & Zhou, 1988 (Hymenoptera: Tenthredinidae) and phylogenetic analysis.

Project description:In this study we review the phylogenetic grouping of the sawfly genus Siobla within the superfamily Tenthredinoidea. Using Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), we describe the complete mitochondrial genome of Siobla xizangensis Xiao, Huang & Zhou, 1988. The assembled mitochondrial genome of S. xizangensis was found to be 15015 bp, with three tRNA genes rearranged compared to the ancestral organization. The overall nucleotide composition was 42.6% for A, 11.4% for C, 7.7% for G and 38.3% for T. The phylogenetic tree based on heterogeneity models of 36 Symphytan and two Apocritan recovered the monophyly of Tenthredinidae, and S. xizangensis was identified as the sister group of Tenthredo.

Several gene rearrangement events were observed in IQM gene cluster by comparing with the inferred insect ancestral mitochondrial genome. Phylogenetic analysis demonstrated the position of Eutomostethus vegetus in the Tenthredinidae and showed that Blennocampinae is a sister group to Fenusinae.

Project description:The complete mitochondrial genome of the sawfly, Analcellicampa danfengensis, was sequenced and analyzed. This double strand, circular molecule is 15,968 bp in length with an A + T content of 80.9% and contains 13 PCGs, 22 tRNA genes, and two rRNA genes. Gene rearrangement occurs in the mitogenome of A. danfengensis. Two putative control regions are found, respectively with a length of 495 bp and 359 bp. All PCGs use standard ATN as start codons and most PCGs has complete TAN as stop codons. The phylogenetic analysis suggests that A. danfengensis is closely related to Monocellicampa pruni, another species of Tenthredinidae.

The complete mitochondrial genome sequence of Pachycephus smyrnensis Stein, 1876 (Hymenoptera: Cephidae) with phylogenetic analysis.

Project description:The complete mitochondrial genome of Pachycephus smyrnensis Stein, 1876 collected from Sivas, Turkey, is described. The circled genome is 20,393 bp in length and contains a typical set of 37 genes. The missing control regions, trnQ and trnI in previously reported P. smyrnensis (KX907846) were obtained in this precise assembly based on a considerable amount of raw data. A denser sampled phylogenetic analysis shows that the two P. smyrnensis constitute a branch sister to P. cruentatus (Eversmann, 1847). Pachycephus is a sister group of Phylloecus within Hartigiinae and remote from Characopygus, a genus within Cephinae. The monophyly of Pachycephini has been rejected.

Project description:Cyanopterus ninghais is an important gregarious ectoparasitoid during the larval stage of Monochamus alternatus, a key vector for pine wilt disease in Asia. In this study, the complete mitochondrial genome of C. ninghais was sequenced and analyzed. The mitochondrial genome of C. ninghais is 15,386 bp in length, comprising 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 transfer RNA genes (tRNAs), and 2 ribosomal RNA genes (rRNAs). The nucleotide composition is 41.32% A, 8.29% G, 6.06% C, and 44.33% T. Phylogenetic trees of Braconidae were constructed using 13 PCG sequences via Bayesian inference (BI) and maximum likelihood (ML) analyses to determine their phylogenetic position. Both ML and BI analyses revealed that C. ninghais is closely related to Euurobracon yokahamae, Virgulibracon endoxylaphagus, and Habrobracon hebetor.
