IL-23 is a cytokine member of the IL-12 superfamily. These heterodimeric cytokines offer broad immune regulatory activity with potential effector function in inflammatory arthritis. IL-23 is a pro-inflammatory cytokine secreted by dendritic cells and macrophages. It plays a key role in both innate and adaptive immunity.
